About Cohen & Gresser LLP
With around 80 lawyers Cohen & Gresser is a midsize law firm with offices in New York and Washington, DC, as well as two international locations. The firm is known for its strength in white collar work.
White Collar Whizzes
Cohen & Gresser was founded in 2002 by Lawrence T. Gresser and Mark S. Cohen, both of whom are still partners at the firm. The firm practices across eight core areas: corporate, employment law, IP, litigation, privacy and data security, real estate, tax, and white collar defense and regulation and also has two regional practices—Africa and Israel.
The firm’s white collar defense and regulation practice is highly regarded and includes attorneys based both domestically and in Europe. The firm’s experience includes conducting internal investigations, handling regulatory investigations and proceedings, and counseling on white collar criminal matters.
The firm is also recognized for its securities litigation work. And it boasts a bustling litigation practice that handles everything from antitrust and bankruptcy to class actions and commercial litigation to directors and officers and products liability—and more. In addition, Cohen & Gresser handles appeals in both state and federal courts.
Helping Hands
Pro bono is ingrained in the culture of Cohen and Gresser. Indeed, its founders are both dedicated to public service in the legal industry—Cohen is on the public Service Committee of the Federal Bar Council, and Gresser is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest. The firm’s pro bono experience is wide ranging, and it has worked in such areas as asylum, disability, employment law, housing, IP, veteran rights, as well as counseled nonprofits on a host of issues.
