About Fitch, Even, Tabin & Flannery LLP
Fitch, Even, Tabin & Flannery is an intellectual property firm with a global reach. Originating in the Windy City, the firm has five offices coast-to-coast.
Fitch Even was founded as a general practice firm in Chicago in 1859, making it the oldest continuously operating law firm in Chicago. Originally named Goodwin, Larned & Goodwin after its three founders, the firm underwent a series of name changes throughout the decades and landed on its current iteration in 1983. Today, the firm has expanded beyond its Chicago roots to set up shop in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, and Washington, DC.
IP Experts in Every Industry
Fitch Even is an IP firm through-and-though, with practice areas that cover every aspect of its clients’ intellectual property needs: advertising, marketing, and promotions; copyrights; entertainment and media; international IP protection; internet and domain names; IP litigation; IP portfolio management; IP strategy development; IP transactions; patent preparation and prosecution; product clearance and legal opinions; PTAB trial practice; reissue and reexamination proceedings; trademark and brand protection; and trade secrets.
Fitch Even clients hail from around the world and are a diverse bunch. Clients include individuals, small businesses, start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, universities, hospitals, venture capital firms, and research institutions. The firm takes pride in its deep knowledge across industries, ranging from food and agriculture to biotechnology to pharmaceuticals to energy to technology and more.
Partnering to Promote Diversity
Fitch Even offers a range of programming to foster a diverse workplace. Beyond its strong recruiting efforts through OCI and minority job fairs, the firm is a long-time supporter of the Chicago Women in IP organization, and the firm has a women’s initiative of its own. The firm also has a strategic alliance with Wood IP LLC, which is a minority- and veteran-owned IP firm in Washington, DC. The partnership allows both firms to take advantage of expanded resources and a more diverse skillset.
At this time, we are all working remotely. We anticipate that interviewing, onboarding, and training will continue to be completed via video conferencing.
