Kirkland’s Diversity Programs for Law Students:
1L Diversity Scholars Program
Kirkland’s 1L Diversity Scholars Conference is an elite program that provides early exposure to one of the world’s leading law firm. Selected 1L law students are invited to join Kirkland attorneys, clients and alumni for our two-day program, which will help advance selected candidates’ professional development by forming collegial and mentoring relationships.
1L Social Justice Fellowship
Our 1L Social Justice Fellowship was created to advance students’ professional development by offering an early view into BigLaw and public interest work. Fellows will gain hands-on experience and form collegial and mentoring relationships as they split their summer between working at Kirkland and working at a public interest organization focused on social justice issues.
2L Diversity Fellowship Program
As a part of our ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, we are proud to sponsor the Kirkland & Ellis 2L Diversity Fellowship Program. Since 2004, Kirkland has sponsored 340 fellows with grants totaling over $7 million. In addition to a $50,000* scholarship, our 2L Diversity Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for students to work alongside some of the top lawyers in the world, gain hands-on experience and mentoring, develop leadership skills, interact with Firm clients and make enduring connections with peers. *$50,000 less all required income and payroll taxes.
