Our Survey Says
VAULT'S VERDICT:
Lowenstein Sandler seeks candidates who are committed to their community and demonstrate interest in a long-term career at the firm. Associates indicate satisfaction with the firm’s culture, reporting that the firm manages to facilitate significant connections and collegiality, even in a COVID world. They also report that partners treat associates with respect, although they do feel there could be more transparency from the top in certain areas—namely, the promotion process. While acknowledging that their lives are not free from stress, associates do report feeling satisfied with their work-life balance, and they appreciate the firm’s credit for pro bono and other non-client work that goes toward their performance targets. Most associates agree that they have a strong career outlook, whether they hope to make partner—which they report is realistic—or plan to pursue an alternative path, such as going in-house. Associates don’t have many complaints when it comes to technology and their ability to work from home. Wellness is an area that receives less enthusiasm, as they note the firm could do more in this area. On the flip side, they appreciate the firm’s genuine commitment to pro bono work, which is highly encouraged and cited as a major benefit to working there. With respect to diversity, associates report a number of initiatives and a real commitment, but they agree that, like most firms, Lowenstein has more work to do here.
