1. The People - I have worked multiple jobs and internships, yet I have never been treated the same. Goldman Sachs has such an inclusive and open culture with all of the employees. I was able to meet so many people and put time on their calendars just to introduce myself and hear a little more about their role. I had never met a single person in reality, but each and every one of the employees was more than happy to meet with me.

2. Culture - I think it is a common misconception that massive Fortune 100 companies are not in touch with current events. Goldman Sachs is very cognizant of what is going on around the country and around the world. I was constantly shocked to hear how important current events were to the firm. It raised unimaginable amounts of money for different charities while I was at the firm, and it also allowed its interns to donate their time to a virtual Community Team Works project.

Downers

The only con of the internship was that it went by so quickly, but that is to be expected during a global pandemic.

Advice to Potential Interns

My advice for any potential intern would be to choose Goldman Sachs. I have been amazed at the amount of information I have learned at the firm. I wish I knew more about the initiatives that Goldman Sachs was/is investing in. I also think it would be an added bonus to understand all of the divisions within Goldman Sachs and how they interact with each other.

Advice to Management

Goldman Sachs management should continue doing exactly what they have done this summer. I was never bored even in a virtual setting. There were just enough networking, divisional understanding, and introduction events that I never was bored. Additionally, I enjoyed actually working on projects that actually helped my team as a whole rather than just intern projects.
