It's important to put yourself out there, especially in the virtual setting. No matter how strong the culture, you need to make sure you're actively meeting the firm and getting a feel for the people that work there.

I know the circumstances are challenging, but we did not appreciate having things sprung on us so last minute without warning. For example, the generalist program was one of the main reasons I selected the Lazard internship, but that feature was eliminated in the 11th hour. In addition, on our very last day on our last Zoom call of the entire program, we find out that we will not necessarily be receiving offers on our previously promised day, which was already later than usual. This does not make us feel valued or appreciated, and it feels like you are using your power against us.
