During onboarding, MetLife shared a number of engagement groups that we could reach out to- including a Women in Business network, a Multicultural Professional Network, and a group for LGBTQ+ individuals. Especially given my personal experiences and the landmark Supreme Court decision this summer protecting personal sexuality as a class exempt from workplace discrimination, this was my first experience taking part in these kinds of groups. MetLife makes an effort to create an inclusive workplace culture, and in addition to these interpersonal relationships, there were many company-sponsored virtual events to learn more about implicit biases and bringing your whole self to work at MetLife.
