Even though this internship was online, there was no lack of intern calls and networking opportunities. Throughout the summer, we heard from and connected with Vice Presidents, the CEO, past professional development program members, and more, giving us a broad view of Abbott. We also had networking sessions and we’re placed with a mentor and peer buddy. Finally, we attended “fireside chats” and were put into a cross functional group with other interns to meet people outside of our division. It would have been a challenge to not network during this internship because there was a new opportunity to meet people around every corner. My project also gave my real, hands-on experience, and my manager ensured my side projects each showed a different aspect of the site. This internship was extremely intentional, and I definitely developed professionally.
