“How to Put on the Best Show at Sea 101”
Other (US)2019VERIFIED INTERN
Uppers

I learned a lot relating to my major and was able to see and experience first hand how costuming for a show at sea is different to costuming a theatre show on land right down to the strategies of how the costumes need to be made in order to last for years.

Downers

I didn't enjoy working on Excel documents much. I am a costume designer and everyone was made aware of it but eventually I was sent to the costuming department full time. I can understand why I was kept for a bit doing office work because there was supposed to be another intern but he dropped out last min but it wasn't a horrible experience I did learn from it.

Advice to Potential Interns

I think that it is a great internship to learn about how things are handled for a ship as opposed to other organizations that are land based. It is also great for networking, especially if you want to stay with the company. There's really nothing that I had wish I known before.
