Next week, Firsthand will be hosting its second annual Women in STEM Virtual Career Fair. The fair will provide women studying science, technology, engineering, or math or already in STEM roles with the opportunity to meet with employers, find new and exciting jobs, learn career lessons, expand their professional networks, and engage with event sponsors.

The fair will be held on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 from 11am ET to 3pm ET. Those interested in attending are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Registration is easy, and those who’d like to attend the event can use this sign-up link. The fair is free and entirely virtual, with no travel required. College students, recent college graduates, entry-level job seekers, seasoned professionals, and anyone who has a background or interest in STEM fields may attend.

The 2022 Women in STEM Virtual Career Fair will feature a keynote speech from Kathy Fuertes, vice president of Infosys, a global leader in digital services and consulting. Fuertes will be giving her keynote from 10am to 11am ET on the day of the fair. She holds degrees in computer science and management, and has more than 25 years of experience in retirement technology and operations. Prior to her time with Infosys, Fuertes was the chief investment officer for Vanguard’s retirement business line. She is a member of Infosys’ Global DE&I (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) council and co-sponsors the Infosys Americas DE&I Council.

In addition to Infosys, all attendees will be able to individually meet and speak with representatives from these top employers: Abbott Laboratories, which has been on the cutting-edge of nutrition, diagnostic and medical technology, and pharmaceuticals for more than 100 years; BDO, a prestigious global accounting firm; Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, an agency within the U.S. Department of Interior; Citi, a leading global financial services employer that offers internships for undergraduate students as well as MBA, JD, and PhD students; GHD, an environmentally conscious consulting firm; Hanson, an award-winning consulting firm specializing in engineering, planning, and a range of allied services; HII, a global engineering and defense technologies provider, and America’s largest shipbuilder; M&T Bank, one of the 20 largest commercial banks in the U.S., with 700 locations across the country; Mars & Co, a global strategy consulting firm with seven offices worldwide; Rincon Research Corporation, which has been providing analytics, designs, and software solutions for government projects since 1983; Scientific Research Corporation, an advanced engineering firm that specializes in defense, global, and cyber and intelligence applications; Seven Eight Capital, an investment firm specializing in applying math, engineering, and computer science to equity markets; and Trinity Life Sciences, a consulting firm based on its foundation of three: advisory, insights and analytics, and technology.
