About Plante Moran

Now in its 100th year of operation, Plante Moran is one of the 15 largest accounting firms in the U.S., as measured by annual revenues. It’s headquartered in Southfield, Mich., a suburb of Detroit, and has been on a major growth streak in recent years, adding several hundred staff members and promoting several dozen partners. Today, Plante Moran employs approximately 3,800 people in 23 offices. It has domestic offices in Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio, and international offices in China, India, Japan, and Mexico.

The firm serves clients in the following areas: audit, tax, consulting, and wealth management. Well known for its team-oriented culture, Plante Moran has been named one of “America’s Best Tax and Accounting Firms” by Forbes, one of one of People magazine’s “Companies that Care,” and, for 26 consecutive years, one of Fortune magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For.” Plante Moran is currently led by Jim Proppe, the seventh managing partner in the firm's history. Proppe is a University of Michigan grad and Plante Moran veteran who worked his way to the top over his 30-year career. On July 1, 2024, as Proppe prepares for retirement, Jason Drake will assume the role of Plante Moran Managing Partner. Throughout Drake’s 25-year career at the firm, which started with an internship in 1999, his work has focused on audit, consulting, and building and expanding Plante Moran’s international offices and practice, which he led for six years.
