The Allianz Group was founded in 1890. It was originally located in Berlin, and sold marine and accident policies before opening its first international branch in London in 1893. It was around this time that the company began to sell corporate policies and expanded its operations all over Europe. In the early 1900s, Allianz started offering fire insurance and life insurance, making it the largest provider of the latter in Europe by the end of the 1920s. Today, Allianz offers an array of products and services such as property insurance, health insurance, life insurance, business insurance, and asset management. And it offers meaningful career paths in HR, project management, claims examining, sales, and more.

Allianz recently organized a Rise Against Hunger event with its U.S. team to provide food for impoverished families and individuals around the world. Volunteers participated in a food pack program that prepared more than 10,000 meals. Allianz USA sponsors The Salvation Army Angel Tree program in Richmond, Virginia. The program aims to provide impoverished families and children with Christmas gifts.
