About Kellogg Company

The Kellogg Company was founded over 100 years ago by W.K. Kellogg with the same mission and vision is lives by today: to provide nutritious and delicious food across the globe. Kellogg’s first product was the staple breakfast food, corn flakes. Since this simple innovation in 1894, Kellogg has been creating and selling products that quickly become classics. Kellogg’s is home to more than 20 brands, including Special K, Cheez-It, Pringles, Pop-Tarts, Eggo, Froot Loops, Corn Pops, and Town House.

Kellogg’s food proucts have made it a household name, but its business success is thanks in part to savvy acquisitions made throughout its history. In 2000, it acquired Kashi and Morningstar Farms. In 2013, Pringles joined its ranks. It acquired RXBar in 2018 and expanded its established partnership with Tolaram in West Africa in 2018. Kellogg’s actively searches for high-quality products that fit its vision of supplying nutritious food that is both delicious and classic.

Kellogg’s main goal, set in place by founder W.K. Kellogg, is to promote a world with easy to access food that is healthy and tasty. In 1923, Kellogg was the first food company to bring a dietitian onto the team and in 1955 created the first high-protein breakfast cereal, Special K. Nutrition is a science, so for the average consumer, it can be difficult to understand which products are healthy. Kellogg is committed to nutrition education and literacy. It supports organizations around the world committed to educating folks on what’s nutritious and how to find it. In the United States, Kellogg’s partners with the Produce for Better Health Foundation in creating and promoting the MyBowl curriculum, which helps “nutrition professionals help their clients eat breakfast more often, choose a balanced breakfast, and serve and eat appropriate portion sizes at breakfast.”

Kellogg’s commitment to creating new, exciting products that stand the test of time has been clear since its beginnings. The company’s history has been a steadfast upward trend of success, and there are no signs of people forgetting about corn flakes anytime soon.
