Annual bonus and increase in base salary can be substantial and much greater than other similar firms in the area. They do a great job at giving you increased responsibility at an appropriate pace.

Hours can be demanding at times but that is expected. Some smaller practice groups are run by partners who are known to be difficult to work with. However, the larger practice groups are big enough that attorneys can steer their work streams to partners with whom they get along the best.

It helps to have strong ties to Michigan and a clear desire to stay in the area.
