About Parsons Behle & Latimer

Parsons Behle & Latimer was founded in the 1870s by mining lawyer William Howard Dickson in Carson City, Nevada. The firm—then known as Dickson & Varian—moved to Salt Lake City in 1882. Dickson and his law partner Charles Varian both also served as U.S. Attorneys for Utah Territory. Since its founding, the firm has grown its Mountain States presence, with more than 190 attorneys and nine offices across Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Utah.

As a result of its history, the firm has unique expertise serving clients in the mining and natural resources space. Parsons attorneys also practice in a wide range of areas, including business and finance, litigation and regulatory, and intellectual property for clients ranging from startups to individuals to multi-billion-dollar companies.
