Fewer than five percent of Jabian's consultants have traveled for work, with the travel itself representing less than one percent of their working time. As for the work itself, the company prides itself on giving employees a true work-life balance, the ability to spend time on "career-focused activities," and providing consultants with strategic projects that do not require travel. When on the job, Jabian reports that most of its employees' time is spent at client sites and that a "career, not job" focus allows consultants to hone, expand, and diversify skills. Social events like corporate and mentor lunches help keep employees connected between projects.

Homegrown business

Community is very important to Jabian, and it's a mutually beneficial relationship. The company cites many bankable upsides to staying local, including a deeper cultural understanding of clients, a strong reputation in the community, and closer relationships, both with clients and between team members. Jabian re-invests in the communities that enable its success through professional and charitable involvement - which includes the firm's own non-profit, (501(c)(3) charitable foundation, Jabian Cares. Most recently, Jabian Cares launched Project Amplify, a micro-grant program to support nonprofits that encourage, enable, and position women and minority entrepreneurs for success. The program donated $175,000 across 21 entrepreneurs and continues to support those entrepreneurs with mentorship, coaching, and pro-bono consulting services.
