Lumenci APAC

Vault’s Verdict

If you’re looking for a niche consulting experience specializing in value creation from IP assets, Lumenci should be on your list. The firm offers strong flexibility, with consultants having influence over their working hours and often taking advantage of the firm’s generous remote work policy. (However, senior employees may need to spend more time at the office.) Taking time off is straightforward, and insiders describe their colleagues as team-oriented and helpful.

The firm offers a decent platform to grow a career, based mostly on opportunities to transfer internationally. However, some insiders wish it provided a clearer promotion process and faster compensation growth. Speaking of compensation, most insiders find the firm’s package adequate but wish it included more base pay and less variable pay. Bonuses can reach up to 25 to 30 percent of the total package.

Employee Reviews

Firm Culture

  • “Best working culture, best team to support.”
  • “Colleagues are good and helpful.”
  • “Flexibility and good culture on the floor.”
  • “Best working team and environment.”

Quality of Life

  • “Flexible working hours, adjustable WFH policies that are really good. Hours are sometimes miscommunicated by managers in order to accelerate performance.”
  • “Quality of life is nice; there is flexibility in working hours. It’s also easy to take time off even if you need for yourself.”
  • “Provides flexibility in working as per our schedule. Good health benefits. Travel requirement can be considered.”
  • “Flexibility is not the best. Strictness to work from office, specifically for higher levels, as we are also expected to take calls at odd times etc.”

Career Development

  • “Best aspects: Promotion processes, flexible working hours, opportunity to work overseas.”
  • “Provides re-location opportunities to international locations. The compensation structure can be re-looked into.”
  • “Work environment is great. Performance criteria is complicated and growth graph is low.”

Compensation

  • “Difference in pay for Btech, Mtech, and PhD makes salary pay criteria equal. However, salary progression time and judging criteria feels subjective. Variable is too high.”
  • “The appraisal percentage doesn’t meet the industry standards. A huge chunk of the CTC is variable (25 to 30 percent), which is not the demand of the kind of job we do.”
  • “Variable component is very huge.”
  • “Blood donation camps, wellness programs, yoga, etc., are done in the firm, which is great.”

Inclusion

  • “Yes, everyone is given equal opportunity, and I haven't felt any discrimination ever.”
  • “Nothing of concern here.”
  • “Making countable efforts.”
  • “All good.”

Business Outlook

  • “Hiring experienced professionals. But the base (i.e., the employees at the ground level) aren't doing so well and need a lot of training. Now, they have started some training programs.”
  • “Great business models and skilled leadership. Need efforts in internal operations.”
  • “Industry is very dynamic, and to forecast next two to three years is easy. But to forecast for next five to 10 years is very difficult. But still positive about the growth.”

Hiring Process

  • “Hiring managers call if the CV looks good. Anyone with decent experience in the industry and good grasp on the required skills should be ideal. For freshers, degree from a good college and strong technical background.”
  • “Hiring process here is very challenging and sometimes it takes a one-month time as well.”

Interview Questions

  • “You have nine balls, equally big, equally heavy, except for one, which is a little heavier. How would you identify the heavier ball if you could use a pair of balance scales only twice?”
  • “Analytical questions, case studies, basic technicals, etc.”
  • “It was related to renewable energy, smart grid and AI control.”
  • “Case studies based on previous projects and technologies.”

Uppers

  • “Flexible working hours/hybrid”
  • “Client centricity.”
  • “Compensation, culture, autonomous, flexible.”
  • “Firm’s business outlook.”

Downers

  • “Sometimes, we have to stretch a lot in order to meet client’s deadlines, but that makes the job rewarding and challenging.”
  • “Some time work-life balance can be skewed.”
