Whiteshield is a global strategy and public policy advisory firm originating from the Harvard University and OECD communities. The advisory firm is known for its innovative algorithms and ideas in the field of economic public policy and strategy. Whiteshield works exclusively with governments, international organizations, and Fortune 500 companies and was founded on the principle that efficiency in government requires innovative thinking and the best of economic academic rigour, policy peer learning, and private sector tools and approaches.

Whiteshield publishes yearly in Davos during the World Economic Forum annual meeting its flagship reports related to labour, in collaboration with Nobel Prize winner in Economic Sciences Christopher Pissarides – the Global Labor Resilience Index ©, as well as other reports related to the fourth industrial revolution, logistics 4.0 and economic outlooks.

Driven by innovative thinking, Whiteshield started from its London office and expanded over the past 10 years, in North America, the Middle-East and Africa and Eurasia working with both developed and developing countries.

Recent history

In 2011, Whiteshield established its London office in Pall Mall working closely with organizations such as the European Bank, the OECD, and other European governments. From 2013, the firm expanded in Eurasia and the Middle-East and Africa, opening offices in several locations and representations including UAE, Kazakhstan, and Russia. During this period the economists and mathematicians of Whiteshield Partners collaborated with the World Economic Forum, Harvard Business Review, and other institutions publishing and copyrighting groundbreaking new algorithms and reports covering knowledge mapping, geo-economic linkages, labour resilience index and the whole of country dashboards.

Whiteshield wins excellence in innovation award – Consulting Magazine – London December 2019

Whiteshield leadership was awarded by Consulting Magazine for being part of the Top Global Leaders in Consulting and being awarded the Excellence in Innovation.

The recognition builds on the firm’s breakthrough work with its clients and regular publications over the past ten years in forums, such as Harvard Business Review and the World Economic Forum. The award ceremony, held in London on 5th December 2019, gathered all key strategy firms’ global leadership.

 Launch in Davos of the Global Labour Resilience Index 2020, January 2020

Whiteshield launched in Davos on 21 January 2020 its annual report on labour resilience entitled "Global Labour Resilience Index 2020: The Geography of Work" in collaboration with Oxford University Said Business School, ManpowerGroup, and the Institute for the Future of Work. GLRI 2020 highlights the level of future unemployment risk countries face based on structural, policy and technological shifts as well as geographical inequalities. Some of the key insights addressed in this year's report include: 

  • Global labour market resilience is on the rise as global unemployment has dropped from 5.2% to 4.9% over five years
  • Three out of the top five countries with the highest level of robots installed per employee are among the top ten most resilient labour markets in the world
  • Best practice is countries reinforce the social contract at the local level to bring labour market resilience to the next level
