Acupuncturists are not represented by unions, but they can obtain useful resources and professional support from the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. The Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) accredits acupuncture training programs. The Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is a membership association for acupuncture schools and programs in the United States that are accredited by the ACAOM. The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine provides certification to acupuncturists.
