Rising undergraduate seniors have the opportunity to be summer analyst interns with Cowen Group. The internship is a ten-week program that has interns diving right in to the fast-paced environment of high level investment banking. Each summer, around 45 interns get hired at Cowen, making this program highly selective. The application process begins when students are juniors in their fall semester for the following summer before their final year of undergraduate studies. Internships take place at either the New York, San Francisco, Dallas, or Detroit offices, with one week of training and orientation taking place for all interns in New York.

With an industry as ever-evolving and constantly changing as investment banking, every day is different for Cowen summer analysts. However, some of their daily actives include financial analysis and modeling, company and industry research, and participation in the development of client presentations. Interns are taken right away as real and respected members of the Cowen community, getting the chance to meet senior bankers and learn from the very best. Interns have weekly lunches with senior leaders and have associate or VP mentors ensuring the development of a true network and community that fosters growth, progress, and the confidence to ask questions, mess up, and learn from mistakes.
