Students interested more in DC Advisory’s business, and investment banking at large, have the opportunity to apply for student programs at the company. The main student program for students in the United States and United Kingdom is the Summer Analyst program. Undergraduate students going into their senior year are encouraged to apply to the program. Interns gain invaluable experience and exposure in the business, taking part in a range of business aspects, including live transactions. Summer Analysts rotate across teams throughout the business to get even deeper, more varied experience than they would get from one department.
The Summer Analyst program takes place over the course of 10 weeks. The bulk of intern responsibilities include “preparing financial models; running various analyses to examine the effects of contemplated client alternatives.” Summer Analysts also get the chance to help prepare marketing documents, like pitch materials, board presentations, and management presentations. Interns at DC Advisory are highly independent, working alongside managing directors and senior-level bankers. Rather than being matched with a mentor or intern team, interns are truly made to be a part of the DC Advisory team, and are encouraged to speak up and participate, developing strong communication and professional skills.
