Aldridge's internship program is a paid, 12+ week placement beginning in early June. Interns are assigned to specific projects and teams and are expected to contribute to real project work from the start, rather than rotating departments or shadowing staff. Assignments include supporting civil and electrical infrastructure projects, assisting project management teams with scheduling and coordination, and participating in field execution alongside crews. Some interns are placed in roles tied to specific functions, such as fleet operations or software development, depending on business needs.

Interns work across the departments and markets that make up Aldridge's core business, including transportation, power, renewable energy, and mission-critical infrastructure. Depending on placement, this can mean time at active job sites, in preconstruction planning, or within project management offices.

Safety training is a formal part of onboarding, built around the company's Incident and Injury Free (IIF) program, which frames safety as a personal mindset rather than a compliance requirement. In the field, interns apply this training by observing daily safety huddles and identifying potential hazards alongside safety personnel.

Each intern is matched with a mentor for the duration of the program, supporting the development of communication skills, an understanding of team dynamics, and clarity around career paths in the industry. Participants are expected to build technical knowledge tied to their assigned function, along with broader skills in leadership, professional communication, and workplace safety.
