Smithfield offers internship opportunities for students who are interested in a career in several key areas of the company, including distribution, engineering, finance, supply chain, sales, operations, and more. Participants, if selected, have the ability to choose from a variety of program tracks, where they will gain valuable hands-on experience as they explore their potential career options.

Throughout the internship, participants will record their progress and have regular opportunities to meet with the leadership team to talk about the projects they have worked on, as well as the results. The leadership team will then provide the interns with valuable feedback in order to help them identify and develop their skills. Participants will also be shown the importance of serving their communities through various outreach programs.

The paid program lasts 10-12 weeks, providing interns with the opportunity to work alongside seasoned mentors and leaders within the company and industry. During the program, participants will contribute to major projects and will receive personal and professional development support in the form of training seminars. In addition, interns can expect to attend and play a role in key management meetings, where they will have the opportunity to interact with the Smithfield executive leadership team.

To apply, students must have completed their sophomore year of college and have a major in a relevant field of study.
