Walgreens’ internship programs cover several of the company’s key areas, including pharmacy, corporate, retail management, and distribution. Each program has different requirements, and some areas offer rotational programs as well, so students can get a feel for different parts of the business. Interns are set up with a mentor and a “project buddy,” along with their managers, in order to get several touchpoints to Walgreens’ work culture and processes. Interns work on real projects with current employees, and will often get the chance to see their work implemented across the company.

One of the key features of the internship is a case study contest, wherein participants brainstorm different ways that the company can innovate, whether that’s in stores or behind the scenes. Interns will also participate in a “day of service,” where they will go off-campus to provide aid to nonprofits within their communities.
