Extremely research oriented faculty, that melds its research with the coursework to give us insights onto what is going to come in Future. Classes are a right mix of Cases and Theory, and class participation is highly encouraged via class participation grades.

Quality of Life

High focus on ethical leadership in essays, highly selective when it comes to team work orientation and how amiable one is as a human being.

The professors are world class and the caliber of students is not behind any top 10 school

Level

Durham is not New York but you save a lot on living and eating expenses.

Look for leader of consequence and a well balanced individual in the essays. GMAT is on the average of 710 but unlike other top MBA programs Duke is also accepting to students with lower GMAT but good credentials in other areas.

I did not apply not received financial aid.

The professors are great. They really care about the students learning. ON top of that, we have great access to some amazing professors and they are there because they like to teach. Students and classmates are always well prepared. To me, the academic side has been such a pleasure to learn in this environment. The world load is tough, but not busy work at all. you feel like you are learning something.

I think that it is a blast! People really like school. I will say, however, there is plenty of work to be done!

I think that Fuqua really looks for the diamonds in the rough that a Harvard might pass-on. These are kids with great experience that may be young or not have the GPA or GMAT that a Harvard is looking for, but have done some amazing things. They make sure to attract these type of people and it shows. Classmates are great.

Quality of classes are pretty high. Class professors are always accessible for any questions. Class sizes is moderate. Moderate competition. Good balance between therory and practical study. Unique academic programs such as Global academic travel experience (GATE), Global Consulting practicum (GCP), Mentored Study, Independent study. Good relevant case studies. Faculty are pioneers in the field with lots of research experience and good teaching experience. Good exchange partnerships with school.

Essays, GMAT, on-campus interview.

Very low financial aid and scholarship opportunities

Level

Top-notch and well-balanced.

Graduation Year

The essays had an element that dealt with more of the social impacts of business. The process, in summary, went very smoothly and I was even offered the opportunity to interview in LA, since the trip to Durham would be difficult for me.

The opportunity to study/work abroad is ubiquitous. Our partnerships with corporations is incredible and getting better. The classes are challenging. The learning experience is cooperative and collegial, not competitive; everyone is pushing everyone else to do better.

Admissions

Cost of living is cheap. The campus facilities are fantastic. The dining is better than expected. The neighborhoods are safe, but some blocks can be crime-riddent.

Reasonable cost of living, great apartment complexes where many business students live, Fuqua building is new and homey. Close-knit neighborhood that encourages all students to get to know each other rather than socialize with friends from outside of school. Definitely the best decision I have ever made.

Admissions

Essays have changed since my class applied - the themes are around leadership, community engagement, futures goals (like most other schools). I remember my Duke application and process being easier than other schools and the Duke admissions office is really organized and responsive to prospectives. I received a large merit scholarship based on my regular application (did not need to fill out a separate application to be considered).
