Fairly competitive. Many course offerings. study abroad opportunities were good. workload manageable, but workload is really up to the student.
Quality of LifeOur new building is great. campus is improving at university, but all in facilities are great with the addition of the new law building.
AdmissionsIt was convenient and not overbearing.
At Marquette the professors are very accessible and are always will to help. Most first year profs use the socratic method and then in the upper level classes it is much less used. Class sizes are very good and most classes are not very large. It seems that most students are competitive but not cut throat. The professors at Marquette are very practical and less theoretical.
Quality of LifeOur campus is very nice. Our law school is amazing and one of the best in the country. the library is a library without boarders which is a unique library. The campus area is in a bad area but the public safety at Marquette is tremendous and I do not feel unsafe on campus.
AdmissionsThe admissions process seemed to be very similar to the process at other schools.

The first-year classes use Socratic-like methods (student stands to answer questions; questions are rarely as insightful as described by Socrates, however), with the exception of the legal writing courses. WIth a few exceptions, the faculty are very knowledgeable about their subject matter, want to engage with students, are available to assist with any issues (academic or otherwise), and encourage students to succeed.
The dispute resolution program is nationally recognized and provides a thorough education on theory and in skill development. The school is developing new study abroad summer programs.
The restorative justice program is also exceptional, providing students with opportunity to engage in RJ activities of all types. The faculty member is internationally known in this field and is just a phenomenal person in her own right.
Quality of LifeMarquette just opening a brand new facility in the fall of 2010. It is phenomenal! The only downside is that undergraduate students like to study there, as well, though the school has implemented policy to limit their access. The building includes full-size lockers, a gym, a cafe, a chapel, numerous study rooms, and lots of area for socializing.
The Marquette neighborhood, in general, is in downtown Milwaukee---it's an urban campus with all the benefits and concerns of a downtown big city. It is, however, only 2 blocks from the county courthouse, which is really wonderful for internships and volunteer work at the courthouse.
AdmissionsI have heard the part-time program is less selective than the full-time program. I don't know about that. Most people in my part-time class had previous graduate degrees and were much more thoughtful in their class participation and diligent in their study than the full-time students I encountered.
The facilities right now are not the greatest. But we will be in a new law school by next semester which looks amazing.

Socratic method in most classes.
Lots of excellent workshops that emphasize practical skills
Unique Academic programs that drew me to the school---Sports law and Dispute resolution programs are excellent.
Faculty is very interested in students success.
Quality of classes are great but they tend to only offer some of the basic/practical classes in one semester (Fall)
Quality of LifeCost of living is affordable. School should be a huge upgrade next year with the new building. Neighborhood can get a little dicey---there are police/campus reports of armed robberies. Overall, the campus and facilities are nice.
AdmissionsNot very many scholarships are given.
I think I was accepted because my LSAT score was above the median.

I've had some of the best professors of my life here, but there were also one or two that I questioned.

Strong faculty! Use of Socratic method in 1st year classes, and some required classes. Seminars are great---intellectually stimulating and engaging. After requirements, the class sizes are smaller, and more enjoyable (in my opinion). Classes above a certain number of students are graded on a strict curve, with a mean for the class at a B. This mean for every A given, a C is also given.
Great specialty programs ---ADR, Sports Law, Elder Law, Restorative Justice. And opportunities for Study abroad programs--Europe, primarily.
Quality of LifeWe are opening a brand new, gorgeous, state-of-the art building in August 2010!!! AMAZING place, really forward-oriented and student-focused!
AdmissionsSimilar to other schools--LSAT, LSAC/LSDAS, essay. There was an opportunity to provide an additional, explanation essay, if you desired.
