About BlackRock
BlackRock was founded in 1988 by a group of eight people. Since then, the company has made a series of key business acquisitions and become one of the most trusted asset management firms in the world. In 1999, BlackRock began offering Aladdin, its core proprietary technology. Aladdin became the basis of BlackRock Solutions, founded in 2000, marking the beginning of BlackRock’s role as a technology provider. More recently, in 2019, BlackRock launched BlackRock Retirement Solutions and acquired eFront, which allows investors to manage private and public asset classes on a single platform. BlackRock is headquartered in New York, New York.
BlackRock offers numerous financial services, including portfolio construction, data and analytics, financial modeling, and enterprise risk and regulatory advisory. BlackRock has career opportunities in areas including analytics and risk, business management and strategy, business operations, and finance and internal audits. It offers employee education programs such as virtual and classroom courses, and curriculums such as its Client Relationship Academy and Leadership & Management Academy.
BlackRock is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in and out of the workplace. It has implemented a tried and true DEI program, which is anchored on three core philosophies: building and maintaining a diverse workplace, strengthening client relationships through DEI, and practicing transparency with diversity disclosures while investing in the success of underserved communities.
