VAULT'S VERDICT
In hiring, Adam Leitman Bailey pays attention to which law school, but even more so to law school performance, writing ability, and desire to represent clients zealously. Coworkers are pleasant, respectful, and professional, and teamwork is common. Partners are collaborative and treat associates as equals; they serve as mentors, teaching, providing guidance, sharing their expertise and providing the necessary supervision to go with the hands-on experience associates gain by working on various projects. In contrast, formal training opportunities are somewhat limited. Work assignments involve face time with clients and challenge associates, with assistance available for tasks that are beyond one’s experience level. The firm offers plenty of quality projects for everyone; however, Adam Leitman Bailey does not have a set billable hour requirement, which allows flexibility outside of busy times. The firm’s compensation is fair, but unique. It is based on a profit-sharing model that relies on the hours billed and fees paid by clients. Firm technology is updated and efficient. Gym membership subsidies and vacation time allotments are appreciated wellness efforts. Diversity efforts are represented by diverse employees and the firm’s welcoming attitude. While associates can make lateral moves to other real estate firms, they commonly move to counsel positions or non-equity partnership.
