Baird Holm is a full-service law firm in Omaha, Nebraska and was founded more than 140 years ago. The firm boasts more than 80 attorneys that are licensed in 20 states, and primarily represent public and private companies, individuals, private funds and other investors, financial institutions, governmental entities and nonprofit organizations. A Family Affair

Father and son duo Milton Montgomery and Carroll Montgomery started their own practice on November 1, 1873 in Nebraska, just six years after the state had been established. Thanks to the first rail line from the east to the west coast and running across the Missouri River, Omaha began to thrive in agriculture, transportation, finance and international commerce. As Omaha flourished, so did the firm and in 1970, became the Baird Holm we know today.

Although Baird Holm may be an older firm, this has not held it back from advancing with the new age of technology, where the firm has adapted accordingly by adding computerized litigation and document support capabilities and even a state-of-the-art computer system that permits ease of communication with clients.

The firm’s attorneys are often awarded for their achievements, and not without reason; the firm’s c-founder C.S. Montgomery has proven a wonderful example by organizing and serving as the general counsel to the Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition Fair, an event that brought over 2.5 million people in 1898 to Kountze Park in north Omaha. The firm appointed its first female attorney in the early first half of the 20^th century. Today, Baird Holm is a two-time winner of the Nebraska State Bar Association Diversity Award remains as the only Nebraska firm to have ever been selected as a Lex Mundi member.
