About Fisher Phillips
With dozens of offices across the U.S., Fisher Phillips is a force in the employment law world. The firm is home to more than 500 lawyers, who focus mostly on defense-side labor and employment cases.
Management's Best Friend
Founded in Atlanta in 1943, Fisher Phillips has grown from a regional to national player. The firm has established experience in traditional labor and employment law subjects like NLRB practice, EEOC, wage and hour, and disability law, as well as emerging issues in fields like employee benefits and immigration law compliance.
The firm continues to add offices by the truckload. Its client base is diverse, including employers in the agriculture, automotive, casino, healthcare, real estate, transportation and manufacturing sectors, among others. It has successfully defended clients like Capstone Logistics, LLC from a retaliation lawsuit, helped a casino fend off a race discrimination case, and won a case against the NLRB for Domino’s Pizza franchisee Cowabunga, Inc.
Writing the Book on Employment Law
Fisher Phillips’ attorneys are a prolific bunch, often writing for labor law-related journals or sitting in as talking heads on employment matters for news organizations like NPR, local TV newscasts, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and the Miami Herald, to name a few. Among the topics the firm has covered include best hiring and firing practices; tips for employers hoping to avoid litigation stemming from workplace romances; how to throw safe, non-litigation-inducing holiday parties; how to comply with immigration laws; and international employment issues.
Career Roadmap
Many associates at large law firms lament the drudge work and lack of partner contact—but not at Fisher Phillips. According to the firm, its cases are often staffed with a partner and an associate. This dynamic provides the associate with on-the-job mentoring and training, as well as an opportunity to take on high levels of responsibility from the start. Further, associates at the firm aren’t left questioning how to successfully develop their careers; they’re given a roadmap. Each year, associates receive a benchmark checklist to review with their mentors to ensure that they are on the right track and to seek out relevant opportunities if they are not. And all associates have access to business development training so that if partnership is a goal, they will be prepared.
