Auspicious Merger

Hanson Bridgett was founded in 1958 when the firms of Schofield, Hanson & Jenkins and Bridgett & Marcus merged with each other, creating the new firm of Schofield, Hanson, Bridgett, Marcus & Jenkins. Schofield retired shortly after the merger, and his name was removed. The name evolved over time until, in 2008, it was shorted to Hanson Bridgett LLP, the name by which the firm is known today.

The firm now has offices in San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, San Rafael, Walnut Creek, Los Angeles, Fresno, and Costa Mesa. It is well known in California, and its practices include litigation, general business and corporate law, construction, public sector law, estate planning and administration, government representation, sustainable business, health care, senior housing and care, real estate, intellectual property, and labor and employment.

The firm’s clients include large national and global companies as well as many governmental entities, regional businesses, and individuals. Hanson Bridgett’s regional focus appeals to many California public agencies, such as the San Mateo County Transit District and CalTrain.
