About Hecker Fink LLP
Hecker Fink LLP is a litigation boutique based out of the Big Apple. With around 50 lawyers, the firm is known for its white collar strength, as well as its commitment to public interest litigation.
Starting Strong
In 2017, Roberta Kaplan and Julie Fink formed Kaplan & Company, LLP. The firm changed its name in 2018 with the arrival of leading white collar and FCPA lawyer Sean Hecker, and again in 2024 to the current Hecker Fink LLP. In just a handful of years, the firm has had a big impact on the legal industry. The firm has been named Boutique Firm of the Year twice by Benchmark Litigation and has been recognized by Chambers for its corporate crimes and investigations, general commercial litigation, and white collar work. The firm is also among Vault’s Best Litigation Boutiques and Best Midsize Law Firms in New York.
White Collar Stand-Outs
Lawyers at Hecker Fink regularly tackle cutting-edge litigation matters. The firm’s team has deep trial experience and includes former federal prosecutors, former public defenders, and former clerks. Hecker Fink boasts a stand-out white collar practice. Among the firm’s victories includes the acquittal of Robert Bogucki—former head of Barclays’ foreign-exchange trading desk in New York. The Global Investigations Review named the matter its “Most Important Court Case of the Year.”
The firm also has a strong FCPA and Anti-Corruption practice, with significant experience conducting internal investigations and counseling clients on anti-corruption compliance. Hecker Fink is also home to a bustling general commercial litigation practice, covering everything from bankruptcy to class actions to securities, and more.
Committed to Public Interest
Public interest litigation is a major focus at Hecker Fink. The firm places an equal value on these matters as its commercial matters. One of the firm’s first matters involved the violence stemming from a “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, VA, in 2017. The firm has also assisted in setting up the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund, among other things.
