Founded in 1937 by former Justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court John F. Simms, James R. Modrall and Augustus T. Seymour, the firm focused on serving the unique needs of its New Mexico clients. After adding its first associate in 1946, the firm continued to grow and is now over 80 attorneys strong located in offices in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

Although Modrall Sperling provides a wide-range of services, it continues to focus of issues affecting the Southwest. For example, the firm’s robust water resources practice has represented municipalities, Native Americas and States to ensure that their water rights were protected.

It’s not all business at Modrall Sperling, the firm has curated a unique art collection celebrating the culturally rich and aesthetically beautiful American Southwest. The collection boasts prints by Kenneth Adams, Peter Hurd and Theodore Van Soelen, just to name a few.
