Training on firm processes extends to onboarding laterals, who are effectively integrated socially through the efforts of a committee. Teams tend to be small, challenging work is accessed via a free market system, and associates’ work location is flexible. The billable requirement is 1,900 hours (though only 1,600 billed hours are needed to be in good standing). Salaries and bonuses match the market. Associates say that the firm’s technology has recently improved and that they are given access to AI and contract-drafting software. Wellness initiatives include exercise programs, free virtual counseling, full healthcare benefits, and a vacation stipend for working more than 200 hours per month for three consecutive months. A pro bono manager encourages and publicizes related work, though creditable hours are capped at 50.
