Our Survey Says

  • “I handled substantive work assignments in various firm practice areas. I had substantial interactions with supervising attorneys and was provided informal performance feedback on many assignments. I also had the opportunity to work on a pro bono assignment as a summer associate.”
  • “Readily available work ranging across various practice areas. The work involved different attorneys at all stages of their careers. Effective training and explanation on how to complete assignments.”
  • “During my summer, R+C gave me exposure into multiple practice areas. I completed work such as corporate dissolutions, writing legal briefs, working on M&A deals, and many others. The majority of the work was substantive in nature. Partners made themselves available to review the work product and give feedback/guidance.”
  • “Strong camaraderie among the summer associates. The firm scheduled a good number of social events, providing opportunities for summer associates to interact with firm attorneys outside the office.”
  • “My summer program was most likely different than others (prior to COVID/’post’ COVID) because a substantial portion of the summer program was remote. That being said, the firm went above and beyond to organize virtual gatherings and programs, with huge turnouts.”
  • “COVID was still ongoing during my summer, so in-person socializing was limited. However, the firm provided multiple virtual aspects for summers to get together and interact. Additionally, the firm hosted (optional) in-person events that allowed us to interact with firm attorneys and other summers.”

The Firm Says

Our Summer Associate Program provides law students with a realistic view of what it is like to work at Robinson+Cole as a junior associate. Our summer associates work closely with accomplished lawyers and are exposed to a broad array of practice areas during their time with the firm. We do not have a structured rotation program. Instead, we offer a dynamic project assignment system supported by our associate work assignment coordinators, which allows our summer associates more flexibility to explore areas of interest. During our summer program, we provide challenging work, mentoring, opportunities to socialize, and in-depth orientation and training to give our summer associates the foundation they need to succeed. Our goal is to provide each of our summer associates with the essential skills they’ll need when they return as entry-level associates.
