ECG Management Consultants specializes in improving the U.S. healthcare system. It has worked with more than 3,000 health systems across the country, providing a full range of healthcare consulting services designed to help transform provider and payer organizations. Its offerings range from strategy and innovation to ambulatory care planning and access, from academic healthcare to physician enterprise services.
Founded as an independent company in 1973, the firm remains independent today. However, it has an affiliate relationship with Siemens Healthineers, one of the world’s top medical technology companies. This provides ECG access to tech from Siemens, including AI, that it can use to help clients make a real difference for patients.
Taking DEI to Heart
ECG is dedicated to cultivating a diverse, inclusive workforce that is representative of the population its client organizations serve. It officially has three DEI objectives: awareness, inclusivity, and diversity as a strength. It has a DEI working group that represents every level of the firm and works with the CEO, senior leadership, and the board to advance initiatives that help achieve these objectives.
Breaking ground with a new HBCU health system
In the United States, there are only four historically black colleges and universities (HCBUs) with schools of medicine. However, soon there will be a fifth: ECG management Consultants is working with Xavier University of Louisiana and Ochsner Health, Louisiana’s largest academic health system, to launch a new medical school.
Serving as a strategic advisor to the project, ECG has assisted the aprtners to establish corporate governance and management for the school, articulate its mission and vision, creating a financial model and funds flow framework, and designing the faculty group practice structure. When the school opens, it will seat 50 students per year, with the goal of training physicians who practice in the local community, the state of Louisiana, and the Gulf South region.
