More than half of employees at SAIC—about 63 percent—hold security clearances, which enables them to serve some of the U.S. government’s most important missions. These include several national imperatives, which are major executive branch focus areas that require the utmost degree of security to protect U.S. national interests and citizen privacy. They include undersea dominance, building the border of the future, improving the citizen experience when interacting with government services, all-domain warfighting, and next-generation space technology.

Citizenship and community engagement

In addition to helping the U.S. government become a leaner, more digitally adept organization, SAIC puts serious effort into improving the communities where its employees live and work. The Washington Business Journal has ranked it as the country’s largest corporate philanthropists by employee volunteer hours. The firm builds strong, lasting partnerships with nonprofit organizations in three focus areas: military and veteran resiliency, STEM learning, and community wellness.

The firm also has formal environmental stewardship efforts. It measures, tracks, and monitors its greenhouse gas emissions at facilities under its operational control, and it publicly discloses those emissions. It began setting goals to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions as early as 2014, and it updated these goals in 2019 and 2022 due to changes in its real estate footprint and consistently meeting previous goals. It set additional goals to reduce its Scope 3 emissions in 2022.
