More than two-thirds of mosques that responded to the U.S. Mosque Survey 2020 from the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding said that they paid their full-time imams $50,000 or more a year. Earnings ranged from $25,000 to $75,000 or more. In 2013 (the most recent year for which data is available), 62 percent of mosques that were affiliated with the Islamic Society of North America or North American Islamic Trust provided health insurance to their imams.
