Private equity investor relations specialists manage relationships with current investors (who are known as limited partners) and market funds to prospective investors (e.g., high-wealth individuals, funds of funds, pension funds, insurance companies, and family offices). Serving as the major point of contact between investors and the private equity (PE) firm, investor relations specialists keep investors up to date regarding the fund. This career requires a multidisciplinary set of skills in communications, marketing, finance, and law. At smaller funds, the role of investor relations specialist is often combined with that of marketing specialist.
