Weaver has established its internship program for students who are interested in pursuing a career in public accounting. Internships are offered in a variety of areas, including audit, tax, energy compliance services, risk advisory services, IT advisory services, forensics and litigation services, and more. Representatives from Weaver regularly attend recruiting events at many college campuses across the U.S. to spread the word about available opportunities and what a career at Weaver entails. Weaver strives for their application process to be as simple and convenient as possible for interested candidates.
Weaver is seeking individuals who take initiative and who have the potential to be well-rounded leaders who thrive when collaborating with team members. Interns will learn valuable skills while gaining hands-on experience in a variety of areas. Weaver interns are treated as valued members of the client service team and perform meaningful work for its teams and clients. Interns receive professional training on technical and soft skills at WeaverLAUNCH, the firm’s multiday new-hire training event. After the formal training period, interns receive on-the-job training from experienced professionals. At Weaver, it is not unusual to see top-level leaders and partners sitting down with interns to go over a project.
In addition to its internship program, Weaver hosts an annual summer leadership program, Accelerate. This program is a multiday event and is for students who would like to explore the possibilities of a career in accounting. The Accelerate program is available to high-performing college sophomores who are planning to explore a career in audit, tax, or advisory services. Participants engage in activities that are designed to help them identify and develop their strengths, navigate the internship recruiting process, and find a career that aligns with their personal values, all while interacting with Weaver leaders and team members.
