The Evercore Summer Program is a 10-week program (including one week of training) designed to provide highly motivated undergraduates and MBAs with a representative experience in investment banking. As part of the program, interns will work on a variety of assignments across industries, including acquisitions, restructurings, recapitalizations, divestitures, partnerships, and joint ventures.
As part of the team assigned to these projects, individuals will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including preparing for and attending client meetings, financial modeling, industry analysis, due diligence and process management, and execution of transactions. Summer analysts and associates typically work as part of small teams and, as a result, get a significant amount of exposure to senior bankers as well as clients and are able to take on as much responsibility early on as they can handle. Summer interns are sometimes staffed side-by-side with a full-time counterpart, but are also given opportunities to work on deal teams without another analyst or associate and are responsible for a large portion of the team's analytical work.
The Evercore internship program is a great way to gain transaction experience as well as get hired full time—the firm sources a majority of its analyst and associate hires from its internship program. Evercore has a very high yield on offers extended, and practically every summer intern accepts their full-time offer to join the firm. This minimizes competition and fosters a more collaborative environment, which is reflective of the firm’s culture as a whole. Senior bankers take an active role in mentoring young bankers, and over the summer, firm social events are held about once a week.
