About Evercore
Founded in 1995 by Blackstone and U.S. Treasury veteran Roger Altman, global independent investment banking advisory firm Evercore went public in August 2006 with an $83 million initial public offering. Today, the firm employs more than 2,500 people and serves clients around the world from its numerous offices in Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
The firm’s investment banking business advises clients on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, financings, public offerings, private placements, and other strategic transactions. It also provides institutional investors with equity research and sales and trading execution. To date, the firm has advised on nearly $6 trillion of merger, acquisition, recapitalization, and restructuring transactions.
Recent M&A assignments include advising Warner Brothers Discovery on its $110 billion sale to Paramount, Chevron on its approximately $60 billion pending all-stock acquisition of Hess, Devon Energy on its $58 billion merger with Coterra Energy, General Electric on its $37 billion spin-off of GE Vernova, Synopsys on its $32.4 billion pending acquisition of ANSYS, Danaher on its $23 billion spin-off of Veralto, ConocoPhillips on its $22.5 billion acquisition of Marathon Oil, WestRock on its $20.2 billion merger with Smurfit Kappa to create Smurfit WestRock, and NFP Corp on its $13.6 billion sale to Aon Plc. The firm also offers investment management services to high-net-worth and institutional investors.
Evercore is led by John Weinberg, its CEO and chairman; Roger Altman, its founder and senior chairman; and Ralph Schlosstein, its chairman emeritus, who for almost 20 years served as the president of BlackRock, the largest asset management firm in the world, which he co-founded in 1988.
