About Moelis & Company

Moelis & Company provides strategic advice and solutions to a diverse global client base, including corporations, institutions, governments, and financial sponsors. Headquartered in New York, the firm operates across 23 locations in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. The firm assists its clients in achieving their strategic goals by offering comprehensive integrated financial advisory services across all major industry sectors.

The firm went public in April 2014 and currently employs approximately 1300 people globally. Since its founding, Moelis has advised on more than $4 trillion of transactions. The firm is led by founder and namesake Ken Moelis, an industry veteran with over 45 years of deal-making experience. Ken rose to fame in the early 1980s, first working at Drexel Burnam Lambert before moving on to Donald Lufkin & Jenrette Securities (DLJ). After a successful tenure at DLJ, Ken moved to UBS in 2000, where he recruited several DLJ bankers and promptly turned UBS Investment Bank into a global powerhouse. In 2007, he left UBS and formed his eponymous firm. To build out Moelis’ global network, Ken partnered with long-time colleagues and contacts made throughout his career, including UBS executives and other senior bankers like the firm’s current Co-Presidents Navid Mahmoodzadegan and Jeff Raich.

In 2014 Euromoney named Ken Moelis “Banker of the Year.” Co-President Navid Mahmoodzadegan was named to the Variety500 list of entertainment industry leaders six out of the last seven years and in 2024 he made Variety’s 2024 Dealmaker’s list. Other awards include IFR Magazine naming Moelis “Restructuring Advisor of the Year” in 2019, and The Banker naming it “Most Innovative Bank for Restructuring” in 2018, “Investment Bank of the Year for Private Placements” in 2020 and “Best Bank in the Middle East” in 2022.
