IBM is simply a major figure. As a global company, its reach is expansive and its team stretches across countries. Students intrigued by the prospect of joining not just a team but a worldwide network of passionate scientists, inventors, and other experts should consider applying to one of IBM’s many student internship programs. Depending on the internship, students of all academic levels, starting with undergraduate students who have at least one year completed, are invited to apply. Certain internships are specifically designed for rising juniors and will take place over two summers, aimed at taking interns on into full time positions upon graduation.
Internships at IBM take place in the summer, usually over about 3 months. There are programs in cybersecurity, strategy, analyst positions, and more. Depending on the area, every internship experience is different. Unlike other internships at large companies, IBM makes sure that interns are working with the team they were actually hired with, engaging in real projects and developing relevant professional and scientific skills. Interns should be pursuing a degree relevant to the area in which they apply, and be highly motivated and ready to become a full-time member of the team for their summer at IBM.
IBM hires both undergraduate and graduate students in our internship and co-op programs. You can be considered for
participation if you are a full-time student at any four- or fiveyear, accredited, U.S. college or university. You are eligible
for employment after completing your freshman year. Many positions require U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status, although Foreign Nationals will be considered for some programs. As a candidate under consideration for an internship or
co-op assignment, you will need to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, including GPA. You should have relevant work or research experience and be able to demonstrate strong leadership, communication and teaming skills. You will also need to earn a high evaluation during the interview process.
