About DAVIS Summer Internship Program

Each summer, DAVIS welcomes 25-30 college students to the greater DMV area to participate in a 12-week internship experience. From day one, interns are part of the DAVIS team. Safety is paramount, with interns learning and championing safety practices. Through a variety of project types at different stages of completion, interns experience all aspects of construction.

Construction operations interns work on diverse projects at various stages, gaining practical skills like reviewing contract drawings, documenting progress with photos, compiling punch lists, and managing RFIs and submittals. They also gain insight into change order processes and participate in essential meetings with owners and subcontractors, contributing to real-world projects. Interns also have the opportunity to engage in social activities, contribute to philanthropic initiatives, and participate in educational events throughout the summer to foster personal and professional growth.

In addition to construction operations, DAVIS offers internships across various departments, such as Business Solutions, Marketing Communications, Accounting + Financial Reporting, Field Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Estimating + Preconstruction, and more. Interns work approximately 40 hours per week for the duration of the 12-week internship program.
