Cerity Partners' internship program runs primarily during the summer and is structured around specific business tracks rather than a single unified rotation. Investment Analyst interns, based largely out of the firm's Philadelphia office, are placed on Investment Management, Public Market Research, or Private Research teams, while Wealth Management interns work more directly with financial advisors. The firm has also run a venture capital internship track through Cerity Partners Ventures aimed at MBA students, reflecting the range of specializations available within the firm's advisory business.
Day-to-day responsibilities depend on placement: Investment Analyst interns conduct asset class and capital markets research and prepare written analysis for senior leadership, while Wealth Management interns shadow and assist financial advisors, support the financial planning process, and help design and maintain discretionary investment portfolios. Across tracks, interns are given direct exposure to senior leadership and decision-makers; the program emphasizes hands-on training in building investment solutions.
Through these placements, interns build skills in investment research, portfolio construction, financial planning support, and capital markets analysis, along with exposure to how a national wealth management firm serves individual and institutional clients. The internship experience is embedded in a culture that values collaboration and curiosity, intended to give students a realistic view of a career at a fast-growing registered investment advisory firm.
