About AdventHealth Leadership Internship

AdventHealth's internship offerings include several distinct tracks. The Leadership Internship is an 11-week summer program aimed at college juniors and seniors interested in healthcare administration and operations, giving participants exposure to how hospitals and healthcare system departments function. AdventHealth places interns in clinical support, information technology, marketing, public health, and research-oriented roles across its facilities.

Interns are assigned to a department where they take on real projects and shadow staff performing patient-facing or administrative work, depending on the track. Mentorship is a consistent element: Interns are paired with experienced staff or leaders who guide their projects and answer questions about career paths within the system. Programs also build in an orientation covering the organization's operations and safety practices relevant to a clinical environment.

Across tracks, the system positions its internships as both a learning experience and a recruiting pipeline, with an eye toward converting strong performers into full-time staff or residents after graduation. Participants also attend group sessions with other interns from across the health system, giving them a broader view of the organization beyond their individual placement and department.
