Five Below's internship program is structured as a full-time, paid summer position lasting about 10 weeks, typically from early June through early August. Interns work a hybrid schedule that requires in-person attendance at the company's Philadelphia headquarters (referred to internally as “WowTown”) three days a week, with the remainder worked remotely.

Placements are available across several departments, including merchandising, information technology, real estate operations, digital product management, communications, and store services operations. Within these areas, interns are typically assigned a specific project tied to business priorities, such as sourcing and planning merchandise, analyzing customer feedback data, or supporting operational initiatives. Projects are intended to be results-oriented, giving interns a defined deliverable to work toward over the course of the summer.

In addition to project work, the program includes professional development sessions, informal “lunch-and-learn” presentations, and organized interactions with members of senior leadership. Interns are generally placed in small groups or paired with staff members who provide guidance throughout the internship, giving them regular access to mentorship.
