A solid legal education, and an environment of brilliant people.
DownersA high pressure, high anxiety environment that can leave you with nightmares.
CommentsThink long and hard before signing 20 years of student loan payments.
Would You RecommendYes
Name recognition, challenging atmosphere, extracurricular activities, campus, ability to cross enroll in other schools
DownersCompetitive atmosphere, difficulty of enrolling into preferred classes, availability of professors, professors who don't teach the nuts and bolts and then give issue-spotter exams
CommentsIt's expensive and challenging, but has overall been worth it to me given the doors it opens and the respect it commands in your career.
Would You RecommendYes
Intellectually rigorous
Incredibly broad spectrum of opportunities
Power of the brand
DownersInstitutional pressure toward intellectual homogeneity
Pompous professors/students at times
Less intimate than my former school
CommentsDo not assume that, as a transfer, you will automatically perform as well as you did at your former school. Be careful about class selection (and order) and continue to work hard. The competition really is more difficult than my previous (T25) school.

Professors
Students are very smart
Diverse (by law school standards)
Career prospects
International reputation
DownersGunners
Not enough international offerings for classes
Many faculty members seem disconnected from student body
CommentsIt's an institution in and of itself, which pays off during EIP (OCI) and while applying for jobs internationally.

The people are diverse and way more down to earth than one would expect of Harvard Lw.
DownersThe gunners are on a whole other level of intensity bordering on psychopathy.
CommentsIf you're choosing between Harvard and a school giving you a scholarship, choose Harvard. You won't regret it.
Would You RecommendYes
Quality of professors and of legal scholarship; premier institutions such as Harvard Law Review; beautiful campus with great technology; numerous employment opportunities for graduates.
DownersHighly competitive environment; large classrooms and substantial amounts of work.
CommentsThe significant resources available at Harvard Law School can be best used if you know what you are looking for. As you explore classes and other opportunities on campus, don't forget to keep your eye on the ball.
