Elsberg Baker & Maruri is an elite commercial trial, litigation, and arbitration firm comprised of some of the nation’s top trial lawyers who are consistently on the cutting edge of major commercial litigation and have acted as trial counsel in some of the most important and precedent-setting business trials and arbitrations. These include matters arising from multibillion-dollar disputes involving busted M&A deals, corporate governance, complex contracts, energy, investment funds, violation of investment guidelines, computer hardware and software, breach of fiduciary duties, bond indentures, securities, fraudulent transfers, insolvency and major bankruptcy proceedings, and more. Above all, the firm is dedicated to achieving success for its clients and servicing their needs whenever and however they arise. The team takes pride in developing bold and creative strategies and relentlessly pursuing victory at all stages of the case.
The firm launched with six founding partners in February 2024—but the team has a long history together that started nearly 15 years ago when name partners David Elsberg, Rollo Baker and Silpa Maruri first started working together. Each of them is a former Co-Chair of a practice group at Quinn Emanuel, where they worked together closely on many litigations, arbitrations and trials along with another one of the founding partners, Jared Ruocco. David Elsberg was Co-Chair of Quinn’s Investment Fund Practice, Rollo Baker was Co-Chair of the Corporate Governance Practice, and Silpa Maruri was Co-Chair of the Delaware Litigation Practice. Likewise, three of the founding partners, David Elsberg, Michael Duke and Vivek Tata, were previously partners at Selendy Gay Elsberg where they worked together closely for years on a wide array of cases. The team has a long track record of success.
Elsberg Baker & Maruri prides itself on its deep bench of exceptionally skilled litigators who share an aggressive approach to winning high-stakes commercial disputes. Associates are essential members of our team, and we give them the opportunities to make valuable contributions to our cases, including standup experience in court, developing case strategies and theories, and managing our client relationships.
